Each line below is something specific that does not exist today, with its price, its time, and a meter showing where it stands. Every one is the kind of work we have already built, so you can click through and see it working before you decide.
The texts belong to the tradition, so no sponsor's name is printed on a verse, a chapter or a recording. Each result you fund instead carries one small link to the sponsors' page, where you are thanked by name.
A single line at the foot of the chapter or text:
This edition was sponsored · see sponsorsYour name, what you funded, when, and links to each result. Anonymous if you prefer.
The figure on this page moves as the work is done, and it is printed by the sites themselves. You can check progress without asking us.
Turning a recording into an edition you can play verse by verse costs ₹49 an hour of audio. That is measured on 93 hours of real recordings, not estimated. Almost all of the cost of this work is people, and the trust began on the premise that the vidvāns and scholars are honoured for their work. Vidvāns and scholars who carry a project are retained by the month; senior vidvāns consulted on a project are paid by the hour; students do much of the reading. We priced every line with these rates, at the top of each range.
Seven of them are public betas, still going through verification and cleanup; they are marked below. The full tour, with screenshots and the thinking behind each, is in the Sanatana Sampatti pitch.
